Worst gym ever

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Tru Gym Ipswich. As a former freelance trainer, I raised concerns about the safety of the gym's equipment, which is often rusty and not functioning properly. Instead of addressing these critical safety issues, the management chose to terminate my contract. This decision not only impacted my ability to work but also left my clients without the sessions they had paid for.

Moreover, the gym is poorly maintained; it is rarely cleaned, creating an uninviting and unsanitary environment for members. I have repeatedly reached out to the manager regarding these issues, but my messages have been consistently ignored.

Now, I am being pursued to refund my clients, which is an impossible and ridiculous situation for a small business like mine. It’s clear that the management at Tru Gym Ipswich does not value the safety of its clients or the concerns of its staff. I cannot recommend this gym to anyone looking for a safe and supportive environment.

Literally just paid for a day pass as…

Literally just paid for a day pass as the website said they were still open at stevenage. Once my payment went through I got an email saying that they are closed. Trugym...Stop taking payments from new customers when you know full well that you are closed !!!! And update your website!!!!!What a disgrace. Graham.

dreadful management of memberships

Joined new TruGym in Gateshead at the beginning of the year as the gym opened covid lockdown forced the gyms to close. I was asked if I’d like to suspend or cancel my membership. I choose at this time to cancel our memberships and truGym continued to take money from my account. They now refuse to refund monies taken. Dreadful management of memberships I’d avoid this company and invest elsewhere!

Lazy and unprofessional…

Absolute disgrace of a place rude obese staff. why have staff who cant help you on how to use equipment.Asked Hayley staff on Friday for help and she said she did not know how to use the equipment.How can she not know how to use the equipment when she is prompting the gym as she is staff.All she did was sat down and eat and not help at all. Staff are the ones who represent the gym and are suppose to behave in a professional manner. Not sit there and eat cakes.Ridicules customer service overall. DONT GO TO THIS PLACE AT ANY COST

Absolutely horrified with this gym had…

Absolutely horrified with this gym had been warned by friends should have listened taken 180 pound out my bank in two days with no apologies they taken my money early puttting me in my overdraft refunded it then quadruple charged the next morning this place had is no idea what they are doing the staff clearly haven’t got a clue and just rude still not sorted my money out been told I have to wait till Monday as the feels on desk said he can’t do anything. typical!!!!

Lacklustre, loud and boring classes

I have returned to the gym since the classes started up again, I am happy with the distancing and cleanliness however the standards of the classes are poor, normally they are run by independent trainers but in the move to save money they are run by existing staff. They are young, inexperienced and basically don't want to be there. They put on load music then procede to shout over it. This week i have attended a tone class and a body pump, both were identicle. The Pump was supposed to be run by a girl who no longer works in the gym but according to the booking form she is still there for next weeks session. The only classes worth attending are the ones run independently, much better than the loud lacklustre performances of the staff. Please look at the clientele, they aren't an average age of 18, I am 62 my friend is 72 and we have a lot of people in that age group.

AVOID

Absolutely shocking customer service. Correction: non-existent customer service. It is quite literally impossible to make a complaint or voice any issue and actually receive a response from this terrible company!! I've been emailing the headquarters with no response for 2 weeks and there's ZERO guidance on their website or online for who to contact (other than your local gym) or how. Poor poor POOR.So unhappy I've been unfairly charged for 3 months membership when I haven't been since maybe Feb, if AT ALL this year (it's now October). But no way to resolve it. Fuming to be honest.

In it for the money, zero customer service....

Joined the gym, but after a few visits I realised that it wasn't as good as I had hoped, the kit was very worn and in some cases bits were missing, the staff were ok, the atmosphere wasn't as good as some other Gyms I had been to. I tried to cancel my prepaid membership within my cooling off period, but they were having none of it. Still fighting 4 months later, just about to take it legal now as they think they can ignore consumer rights and do what they want. The branch (Chatham) don't even answer my emails now! I would think twice if you were thinking of joining, I feel like they just want your money and really don't care too much about the customer.

I've had an amazing time going to this…

I've had an amazing time going to this gym. It was a great gym to start off my journey on becoming the best version of my self. The atmosphere in the gym has probably been the best part of going there as it motivated and helped you stay focused when you get there. All of the members that I have encountered at the gym were very supportive and helpful.
